Many years ago, in my punk rock youth, my friend Susan and I put out a fanzine called "Beyond Help" and my punk rock pen name was Maria X which was part homage to Malcolm X and part shamelessly copied from a scenester who occasionally appeared in Pleasant Gehman's La Dee Da column in The LA Weekly. I have a serious addiction to pop culture and dream of the day when I get paid to watch TV.
This is a chronicle of my addiction.
Oh, and the Dia de los Muertos design is a nod to the original Beyond Help logo which was a skeleton. Carry on!
