I've been a commenting fool tonight over at BlogHer. I've been catching up on responding to the many awesome comments I've received on some of my posts lately. Notably on titled "What's Your Reputation? What's Your Destination?" It occurred to me after I put the post up that I should have added a little treasure hunt for the origin of the post title. But since I am lame and swamped I forgot to add a cute little signature tag with pointing back here with the answer. Instead, I'll just share the song and video here (in all its 80's glory) and point y'all back to the post which has generated really fantastic discussion. I recommend it highly.
I watched Lost and Ugly Betty on ABC.com last week and am impressed with the service. The shows are free with the addition of three commercial breaks (the same commercial shown three separate times) during the hour-long episodes. You can't fast forward through the commercials but they aren't terribly intrusive. Although the advertiser can seem a bit strage for the show - for instance the episode of Lost was sponsored by Oil of Olay Definity anti-aging skincare - I would think the demographics for Lost are a bit younger and more male than Definity's target.
The service isn't completely smooth - the images are a bit stop-motion-y and the visuals don't completely synch with the audio - more noticably on Ugly Betty. But, overall, it is a solid and free backup option and much better than CBS' buggy Innertube.
I haven't yet needed to use the NBC.com service but I don't watch most of the shows available and I've read less than glowing reviews of the apparently glitchy service.
