Please to explain? Will Jon Stewart Mime?

I think most of those shows would be a lot more entertaining if they'd just sit around and shoot the shit with their guest. Add alcohol, mix well. Most of these people have been at it long enough that they could ask the questions without them being written for them, I mean, come on, "So, tell us about your new movie." Not even a question. Just get them started on politics, there's your show! Maybe they could get ideas from Seinfeld, it was highly entertaining, and that was a show about nothing! ;-)
[this is good]
"Add alcohol, mix well" Now that's an excellent suggestion!

I'm sure Stewart and Colbert will be great no matter what but I just thought it odd that they can't write for themselves so apparently uttering funny stuff spontaneously without writing it down first... my head hurts.

But, yeah, just get 'em started and it will be a nighttime, mostly male version of The View. It will be fascinating to watch.

Those writers might find themselves out of jobs completely!
I think you might be right. All Stewart & Colbert really need are researcher to find them some funny clips to riff on and they would have plenty of guests lining up to be interviewed...

Might be tougher for Leno and Letterman, though. I wish they would resolve the strike though because I despair the thought of living in a world where my TV viewing choices are Clash of the Choirs, Duel, Celebrity Apprentice, I Love New York 47 and Tila tries Polygamy.
I agree with that last statement for sure. It is nice to get a break from TV though, knowing you aren't missing anything!
True - it's been strange to actually read lately! And at least there is Lost and The Wire to look forward to in January.
You are too funny!.
Yes, new shows/episodes would be great. Lord knows I have NO interest in Tila anything!
Dharma, darling - good to see you!

And can I infer from your comment that you and TG don't yet have a ginormous TV? I'll have to pop over to your blogs and see ;-)
We managed to move the ginormous set we had in Berkeley. It managed to survive the move (which is chronicled in detail starting late Sept on my blog).
We do have cable HD and a DVR which we both forget to use.
OK, my shameful not keeping up with my friends is outed - well deserved. I will be by soon to catch up!

And, yay - the TV survived, excellent!

xoxo
Hey it happens. I haven't visited your blog since November! Shameful on my part too.
